Dr. Laura Marion joined Southern Crescent Women’s Healthcare after recent completion of her residency in July of 2016. Originally from Mississippi, she received her MD from the University of MS Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She went on to further complete her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.
During residency she received numerous honors, including the 2016 Most Outstanding Resident in Obstetrics in Gynecology, as well as third place in Memorial’s hospital-wide Research Day with her individual research entitled, “Cost Effectiveness Analysis of Cord Blood Sampling Using ACOG Guidelines”. While a resident, Dr. Marion was actively involved with ACOG and served as Georgia’s Junior Fellow Chair and Vice Chair, attending annual district and clinical scientific meetings, as well as coordinating the Georgia section of District IV’s service project of unused OR supplies for medical missions.
Dr. Marion enjoys seeing women of all ages and feels that she can give guidance and be a positive role model to adolescents and young adults. She also enjoys preventative medicine, in-office procedures and routine, as well as, high-risk obstetrical care.
Dr. Marion is also very active–she is an avid runner and loves volunteer opportunities. Each year she looks forward to participating in her favorite event, Joy Prom–an annual prom event for special needs individuals in the community.
Dr. Marion is looking forward to her future in the practice and in the Southern Crescent community.
