Janice JJ Joiner, MSN, CNM
Janice Dorsey Joiner, "JJ", is one of the newer members of the CNM team at Southern Crescent Women's Healthcare. She has been practicing in Camden County in southeast Georgia for the past 15 years, but is thrilled to be part of the midwifery care here in the SCWH family! Her jouney towards "birthin' babies" and total women's care began with her undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, followed by her certification in nurse-midwifery from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing and finally, her Master's in Nurse-Midwifery from the State University of New York n Stony Brook. While being a midwife has been a dream job, JJ counts her greatest accomplishment as being a mom to her 3 wonderful children; Kate, Eric and Janey Grace.
Childbirth offers a unique time in a woman's life to learn about herself and discover her unlimited potential in all areas of her life. JJ wants to help facilitate the birth experience that her patient's want to have, whether it is a natural birth or one using other methods of labor management. She encourages women to have an active participation in their health care throughout the whole spectrum of their lives.
She believes in practicing evidenced-based midwifery with a down-home attitude!
