Billing and Insurance
Southern Crescent Women’s HealthCare
The providers of Southern Crescent Women’s HealthCare participate in many different insurance plans. As a courtesy to you we will file all primary and secondary claims for you. When you present to our office you will need to bring your Photo ID and insurance card with you as proof of coverage. It is your responsibility to know the details of your health insurance plan with regards to referrals, co-payments and percentage of coverage. We recommend that you check your insurance benefits to be sure we participate with your plan.
Many insurance carriers dictate the facility to be used for labwork, pathology and therefore you may also receive a bill from one of these outside sources. Please check your plan coverage to determine the facility and inform the lab technician to avoid unnecessary costs to you.
Insurance Copays and Account Balances
Insurance copays are expected at the time of service. Copays cannot be waived. This will be collected upon check-in along with any other balances owed on your account. Failure to do so will result in your appointment being rescheduled to the next available open appointment time on another day except in the case of emergency situations.
Payment Options
We provide a variety of payment options. We accept American Express, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, cash or check. For your convenience you can also pay bills from our office online.
Referrals
If a patient´s insurance company requires a referral from his or her primary care physician to see one of our specialists, it is the patient´s responsibility to provide our clinic with all required referral documentation. Please note that patients must have this referral information with them on their initial appointment to be seen.
Insurance Changes
It is the patient´s responsibility to notify the clinic of any insurance changes. A photocopy of the patient´s current insurance card will be kept on file to ensure prompt and accurate filing.
Insurance Plans
Southern Crescent Women’s HealthCare participates in many insurance plans and managed care programs. These contracts are frequently reviewed and changed. Therefore, prior to your visit, please contact us or your health plan to verify our participation in your plan.
