Laparoscopy
Southern Crescent Women’s HealthCare
Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows your doctor to internally view your pelvic organs and address many gynecologic conditions. This is accomplished by using a long, thin camera that is passed through a small incision in your abdomen.
Laparoscopy may be useful in the evaluation and/or treatment of pelvic pain, infertility, pelvic mass, ovarian cyst, endometriosis, fibroids, ectopic pregnancy, or desired permanent sterilization.
Laparoscopy is performed in the operating room of the hospital. You can usually go home the same day of the procedure.
