MICHELLE UZOR, MD, FACOG
Stockbridge & Fayetteville, GA
Dr. Michelle Uzor is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist at Southern Crescent Women’s Healthcare, where she provides full-scope OB/GYN care with a focus on patient education, advocacy, and individualized treatment. She has a special clinical interest in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and is passionate about helping patients navigate its wide-ranging effects, including menstrual irregularities, acne, abnormal hair growth, metabolic concerns, and infertility. As someone who personally understands the complexities of PCOS, Dr. Uzor is committed to long-term, holistic management and empowering patients with clarity and support at every stage.
Dr. Uzor’s surgical approach centers on minimally invasive techniques such as robotic-assisted hysterectomies, myomectomies for fibroid removal, ovarian cyst removals, and other laparoscopic procedures, always prioritizing the safest and least invasive surgical approach possible. Her surgical philosophy centers on achieving excellent outcomes, small incisions, faster recovery times, and reduced postoperative pain whenever safely possible.
She is passionate about both high- and low-risk obstetrics and enjoys walking alongside patients as they grow their families. In menopause management, Dr. Uzor focuses on individualized care, including hormone replacement therapy with careful risk stratification to help patients make informed decisions about their health.
Dr. Uzor earned dual undergraduate degrees in Biology and Spanish from the University of Georgia. She completed medical school and OB/GYN residency at Morehouse School of Medicine, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident. She received multiple awards during training, including “Excellence in Student Education” and “Most Compassionate Physician.” Her residency experience at a high-risk, inner-city hospital provided extensive exposure to complex and critically ill patients, strengthening her dedication to addressing healthcare disparities in Georgia.
A first-generation Nigerian-American, Dr. Uzor has called Georgia home for most of her life. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling with her husband, exploring Atlanta’s food scene, hot yoga, cycling, and experimenting with new recipes. She also loves spending time with her large family and her beloved dog.
